The Garden of Sounds by Paul Fuchs is a small museum park of about 2 hectares that extends into the private residence of the German artist of the same name, a place with a mysterious charm that leads visitors to discover his works. Obtained from stone, others are made of wood and many are built with copper, iron and bronze: Fuchs’ works are studied both in form and in position to create a sound path that changes according to the wind. Each work is created to produce a specific sound, a sort of natural music that accompanies those who visit it on a metaphysical journey within this garden of wonders. Among the most important statues present in this sort of open-air museum, still being completed, you will find: the great Indicator a construction built in Berlin in 1996, the iconic wind spiral built by Fuchs in Memmingen in 2004, the High B produced in Munich in 1995, the work entitled Il Segno nel Vento conceived and built in Moers in 2000 and the lens built in Grimma in 2002. The Garden of Sounds is immersed in the suggestive panorama offered by the Metalliferous Hills in the municipality of Boccheggiano. This author’s park is only an hour’s drive from the provincial capital Grosseto and can only be visited by reservation.
